According to the signed Memorandum on partnership between the IT-association of Uzbekistan and the National Agency of Korea of Internet development, International workshop on managing and developing of information resources–“U-Connect 2007" started its work. The workshop was held under the assistance of UzACI and the Ministry of information and communication of the Republic of Korea.

Looking at the title of the seminar, we may say that it led to discussion of a new stage of in informational society formation. In other words, the former prefix “e-“ symbolizing electronic component of technology (e-banking, e-government, e-medicine and etc.) is used rarely nowadays. Because of modern society development, “e-“ is frequently replaced by “u-“ (ubiquitous) to denote high-speed penetration of various service providers into everyday life.

Many specialists from several countries are interested in this seminar. Visitors from Australia, European Union, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Mongolia and other countries are taking participation in this seminar along with Korean delegation. Total number of participants of the seminar is more than 200. Variety of the subjects of the seminar speeches are comprised of reports on modern condition and developments, and perspectives of information technologies.

New technologies and optimization processes implemented in high-tech projects are widely presented by speakers. Special meetings of the seminar are dedicated to the issues of infrastructure formation and standardization in IT field. Issues of legislative assistance and security in Internet will be reviewed during the workshop as well. Joint Uzbek-Korean arrangements in the context of long-run and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Korea are very productive and varied. Visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Korea in March 2006 served as a basis for this bilateral partnership. This workshop will serve for further consolidation of our mutually beneficial relationships.
