Handbook on the Intellectual Property Rights for Software in Uzbekistan
UNDP "ICT Policy" (ICTP) Project jointly with Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information published the “Handbook on Intellectual Property rights for software in Uzbekistan”.
The main objective of the handbook is to familiarize developers and rightholders of the software and its users with major legal issues, that often arise in the process of developing and using the software. The means of registering and protecting of intellectual property rights for software are also described. The handbook reveals the great value of intellectual property and need to rationally use it. The handbook is intended for use by software developers, its users, enterprises, organizations, engaged in software development and use software in their activities.
Currently, the legislation of any country contains relevant norms, designed to protect the objects of intellectual property. National legislation is not an exception and, therefore, is successfully developing in this direction.
The rules and requirements of the legislation and their simplified explanation, practical examples and recommendations that are offered in the handbook will help not only authors and producers, but also the users of software, as far as they make clear the distinction between the legal and illegal use of others' works, and thus, preserve the software users from committing unconscious breach when using software. The handbook on intellectual property rights for software in Uzbekistan will help to understand the value of intellectual property and its rational use.
The handbook contains general information on the concept of intellectual property, software, the protection of the rights on software in Uzbekistan.
