National Summit on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) – ICT Summit 2009 – one of the most striking events of ICT Week – InfoCom 2009 will be held on September 22  at the International Business Center in Tashkent. It is important to note that ICT Week – InfoCom 2009 is held in Tashkent annually in autumn and is considered as to be one of the most interesting events in the ICT sphere of Uzbekistan. 

Three projects of the UNDP – ICT Policy, ACCESS, and "Development of Capacities of the National Human Rights Institutions in Uzbekistan" have commenced on July 20 a training for people with disabilities on Computer Basics.  The training, being held in TUIT which kindly provided its facilities, should equip the participants with all the necessary skills of using the basic and the most necessary software applications.

Training of Trainers, held on 1-2 of July, is a joint initiative of three projects of UNDP (ACCESS, ICTP, and "Development of Capacities of the National Human Rights Institutions in Uzbekistan"). The main aim of this two-day training is to equip the participants with the necessary skills of working with and teaching people with disabilities.

Tashkent – 25 June 2009 - Shodier Hujaniezov from “Pichot” village of Kushrabad district of Samarkand region answered all questions of the quiz on Information security and became another winner of “Taraqqiyot Sari” radio quiz. The quiz included questions on information security, computer viruses and antivirus programs.

25 June 2009 - Sergeli district, Tashkent city – Memorandum of Understanding on establishing One-Stop-Shop (OSS) in the Sergeli district was signed today between United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan (UzACI) and Khokimiyat of the Sergeli district of the Tashkent city.

Bangkok (UN/ESCAP Information Services) –  In its continuing efforts to promote the use of information and communication technology (ICT) as a tool of development through human capacity building, a United Nations training centre has launched an online training programme designed to provide policymakers with the necessary tools to effectively embrace new technologies.

Tashkent – 3-June 2009 - A training course on “Application of ICTs in Public Administration” has commenced today in Tashkent Region Khokimiyat building. Aiming at raising awareness of state workers on various concepts and developments, world trends in Information Communication Technologies (ICT), training course involved around 40 representatives of different government organizations of the Tashkent Region, regional branches, various agencies, as well as some local production ventures.

Tashkent - June 2-3, 2009 - A training course on “Application of ICT in Public Administration” is planned to be delivered in Tashkent on June 2.  Aiming at raising awareness of state workers on various concepts and developments, world trends in Information Communication Technologies, it is to engage around 40 representatives of different state establishments of the Tashkent Region, regional branches, various agencies, as well as some local production ventures.

Khurshida Asadullaeva, a student of the Tashkent Pediatric Institute became the next owner of web camera. She has won in the «Taraqqiyot sari» radio quiz that is held on «Uzbegim Taronasi» radio station.

Ziyoda Nuriddinova, a student of Russian Academy of Economics named after Plekhanov in Tashkent, became the owner of web camera. She answered all the interactive quiz questions of «Taraqqiyot sari» radio program correctly and in this way became the second winner of the project.
