April 3, 2010, Tashkent .Uzbekistan National Programmers Forum will be held at the Communications History Museum on 18 May 2010 and Annual National Software Exhibition BestSoft – Uzbekistan 2010 will take place on 19-20 May at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies.
2 April, 2010, Tashkent - On 7 April 2010 in Sergeli district of Tashkent the first in Uzbekistan, One- Stop- Shop for provision of public services in interactive way using information and communication technologies will be launched.
On March 25, 2010, the presentation of analytical report “Analysis of current state and perspectives of Internet development in Uzbekistan” will be held in Communications and Information Agency of Uzbekistan in Tashkent. The event will bring together main players of information and communication sector of the country.
On 22-24 February, the Republican Conference of UN Volunteers, organized by the UNDP Projects "Assisting the Government of Uzbekistan in the formulation and implementation of ICT for development policy" (ICTP) and “Strengthening the Potential of National Human Rights Institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan” is conducted in the Tashkent-based Ravshan Hotel.
A training on basic computer skills is being delivered for kids in Orphanage #21 of Tashkent city from 26th of January to 13th of February. The aim of the training is to improve skills of the new generation youngsters in area of information communication technologies (ICT), to increase interest of youth in information technologies, as well as help those in orphanage to integrate the information technologies in their studies and their work in the future.
The UNDP “ICT Policy” (ICTP) Project held the award ceremony for the winners of TV quiz which took place during 2009 within the framework of “Taraqqiyot sari” (Towards the development) TV show.
An event organized by UN Development Programme’s “Assisting the government of Uzbekistan in the formulation and implementation of ICT for development policy” project (ICT Policy) and dedicated to International Volunteer Day was held at Westminster International University in Tashkent.
November 25, 2009, Tashkent. From November 24 to December 17 the training on computer basics is delivered for the children of Tashkent orphanage #21. The training was initiated by the project “Assisting the government of Uzbekistan in the formulation and implementation of ICT for development policy” (ICTP) of UN Development Programme. The aim of the training is to improve knowledge of the rising generation in ICT field.
From 1 November till 7 November 2009 UNDP “ICT Policy” project arranged a study tour to Vietnam within the framework of initiative on establishing One-Stop-Shops to provide public services to people. The main aim of the study tour was to learn some best Vietnamese practices in Public Administration Reform (PAR) and, particularly, country’s experience in the establishment of One-Stop-Shops (OSS) to provide public services to population.
Tashkent semifinalists in the competition among university student teams representing the republics of Central Asia in the framework of the World Championship in programming (ACM–ICPC) in a group of Middle Asia North-East European region are revealed.
