Samarkand, Navoi, Bukhara, June 28 – July 3, 2010. From June 28 to July 3 in the cities of Samarkand, Navoi, Bukhara regional trainings in the field of information and communication technology (ICT) under the general title "Application of ICT in public administration" were carried out. Approximately 150 participants from 3 regions of Uzbekistan, representing various government institutions, departments, agencies, and local businesses, took part in these events.

Starting June 21 in Sergeli District of Tashkent an ICT training is carried out for elderly people representing the social fund for veterans of Uzbekistan named “Nuroniy”. The training is delivered by the volunteers of ICT Policy Project under the direction of the project’s interns.

Today in the Communications History Museum the presentation of  “ICT Glossary” has taken place. The edition is prepared by the UNDP’s “Assisting the Government of Uzbekistan in the formulation and implementation of ICT for development policy” Project with the assistance of the Coordination Council for development of computerization and information and communication technologies and Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan.

Tashkent, June 17, 2010. -  Presentation of “ICT Glossary", prepared by the UNDP’s “Assisting the Government of Uzbekistan in the formulation and implementation of ICT for development policy” Project with the assistance of the Coordination Council for development of computerization and information and communication technologies and Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan will be held at the Communications History Museum on 17 June 2010.

Starting from May 31s till the 20th of August throughout the country a series of regional trainings on information communication technology (ICT), united under the general theme  ”Application of ICT in public administration”, are to be carried out with the aim of raising the awarenesses of civil servants on contemporary issues of ICT development in Uzbekistan and in the world.

The presentation and awards ceremony of Web development contest among students of secondary and higher education institutions which took place during the month of May in Tashkent, was held at Tashkent University of Information Technologies.

Within the framework of the Annual National Software Exhibition BestSoft Uzbekistan 2010 the results of the republican contest among the exhibitors of BestSoft Uzbekistan 2010 in nominations "Software product – brand of the year”, “Best company in IT education”, “Best project implementation 2009, “Best Innovation Company” (announced for the first time), “Best student work” (announced for the first time) have been announced.

Tashkent, May 18, 2010. Annual National Software Exhibition BestSoft – Uzbekistan 2010 has been opened today at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies. The Exhibition and Forum BestSoft Uzbekistan aim to demonstrate achievements and prospects of the software industry and to showcase products and solutions for business community, public institutions, as well as for broad audience.

Uzbekistan National Forum of Programmers was held in Tashkent bringing together the leading experts of software industry of Uzbekistan for the third consecutive year.
