Uzbekistan National Programmers Forum will be held at the Communications History Museum on 18 May 2010 and Annual National Software Exhibition BestSoft – Uzbekistan 2010 will take place on 19-20 May at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies.

The exhibition is organized by  Association of IT Companies and Organizations of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan. Both events are conducted in partnership with UNDP’s “Assisting the Government of Uzbekistan in the formulation and implementation of ICT for development policy” project.

BestSoft – Uzbekistan will be held for the fourth time and familiarize its visitors with recent developments in software sector in Uzbekistan. All the achievements and prospects of the software industry, products developed for businesses, public institutions and population will be demonstrated at the exhibition. The National Forum of Programmers will bring together the leading experts in the field of development and implementation of software products, and will allow them to discuss the latest achievements in the field, share their experiences and conduct master classes.

The dates for holding the exhibition and forum were not chosen randomly and coincide with the International Day of Information Society – May 17th - announced by the International Telecommunication Union in 2005.

Representatives of international and local IT companies, software producers, content developers, service providers, research and educational institutions, representatives of ministries and departments are expected to attend both events. About 50 companies in the software market have applied for participation in the exhibition. Total area of exhibition hall is about 500 sq. m. More than 200 IT companies are expected to take part in the Forum.

The exhibition agenda includes 15 workshops and 10 master classes, as well as large number of promotional activities. The awarding ceremony of the Republican contest winners in the following categories will be organized during the exhibition: Software product – brand of the year; The best company in the sphere of IT education; The best project implemented in 2009, The best Innovation Company (announced for the first time), The best student work (announced for the first time).

Participation in this exhibition and forum will enable exhibitors to present and promote their products; consumers will be able to learn about the goods and services. Besides, the exhibition will open new prospects for business expansion by raising the awareness of customers and establishment of new business contacts.
