Today National Software Products Exhibition “BEST SOFT - UZBEKISTAN 2009” has been opened in sport complex of  Tashkent University of Information Technology It should be noted that the exhibition has managed great development and gained recognition as the leading annual event in the sphere of software industry for the last three years.

The official opening ceremony of BestSoft Uzbekistan was attended by representatives of several ministries and departments of the Republic of Uzbekistan as well as by UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan, Ms. Anita Nirodi.

Opening the exhibition, Ms. Anita Nirodi, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan noted, in particular, the importance of software products market increasing in general for ICT development: «Within the framework of its partnership with the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the IT Association of Uzbekistan the Development Program of UN is actively engaged in the development of local software industry and creating sustainable and civilized market of software products », - said Ms. Anita Nirodi in her speech.

The Chairman of Committee for Information and Communication Technology of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Mr. Muminov - also had a speech at the official opening ceremony of the exhibition. He noted that the BEST SOFT - UZBEKISTAN 2009 was an important event in the software industry to introduce the practice of creating and implementing projects in the field of software to the wide public and specialists of information technology field in the country. «We hope that the BestSoft Uzbekistan exhibition will take its worthy place in a number of activities supporting the processes of informatization in Uzbekistan and will open new perspectives for the development of software industry», - emphasized Mr. Muminov in his speech.

A VIP tour of the exhibition took place after the official opening ceremony. During the tour visitors had an opportunity to get close familiarization with the latest development and achievements of software industry.

It should be noted that the exhibition showcased all existing and promising achievements of software industry, targeting both the representatives of the business community, authorities, and the wide range of population.

There are over 40 companies participating as exhibitors, the total area of the stands is about 450 square meters that is 16% over than in previous year. The enterprises and companies of the Uzbek Agency of Communication and Information, «UNICON.UZ» center for scientific- technical and marketing studies,«Uzinfocom» center, the Tashkent University of Information Technology, Center for training and support of young programmers and other organizations have  presented their stands. Alike with domestic companies there are also the representatives of the companies of such countries the United States, Austria, Germany, Russia, Kazakhstan at the exhibition.
